HMD has issued an invitation to unveil the Nokia X71 (aka Nokia 8.1 Plus). The event will be held in Taiwan on April 2 and will include the Nokia 9 PureView, currently the best HMD camera phone (but maybe not once the event is over).
The X71, which will be marketed worldwide as Nokia 8.1 Plus, will be the first HMD phone with a 48 megapixel sensor. This camera is connected to an ultra-wide shooter of 120 °, both equipped with a Zeiss optics.
It will also be the first Nokia to wear a perforated selfie camera as shown in these pictures. The screen should measure 6.22 “.
Note, however, that the X71 and the 8.1 Plus will not be exactly the same – the X71 should have a third camera in the back, its function is currently unclear. The above renderings show the double camera variant.
Like the Nokia 8.1, the 8.1 Plus should be a higher midrange device. So do not expect a flagship chipset. However, the Snapdragon 710 of the current model is more zipped and the PureView uses a chip from last year (the Snapdragon 845 is always faster than the 710).
