Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 3 5G is one of the first 5G-compatible devices to reach European operators, and its successor is already in the works. In fact, the next Mi Mix 4 5G may already have been certified by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
A new Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 5G handset model number M1908F1XE has been identified on the MIIT website. It has 5G connectivity. Although the list in no way indicates that it is the Mi Mix 4 5G, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has already announced that a new 5G device will be available in the second half of the year. And since a new handset from the Mix series was announced in the second half of the year, it goes without saying that this series could be a variant of the following.
Due to the associated costs, 5G is currently limited to high-end smartphones. Therefore, there are not many other possible options for Xiaomi in this case. The Mi 9 was introduced this year, but if there was a 5G model, we assume it’s already announced. It’s also possible that this phone, Mi Mix 4 or not, uses the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC.
